This little 260 cubic inch Windsor was transformed from a typical 50 year old, tired looking stocky, to a tuff looking Cobra replica. The transformation started internally with the decision to use a 302 crankshaft with the existing 260 conrods. This meant that we needed to design a custom JE forged piston to suit. Once ARP conrod bolts were fitted, we fully balanced the newly configured bottom end. The original heads were fully reconditioned with some upgrades to valve sizes and port work, and ended up with 10.2 to 1 compression ratio. The engine was finished off with a new 465 holley carby, Cobra intake and exhaust manifolds, and Cobra sump and rocker covers. The end result of this project was an increase of almost double the power output but still maintaining nice drive-ability due to careful camshaft design and planning of the engine package.
